Everything has value
Oh, you pretty things. Welcome to your new home, little ones. Stand up, Never give up. Love and be loved.
The Power of Storytelling
While we have many reasons for spending so much time on story -- we know the research. We know that story is essential to brain development, language acquisition, literacy, resiliency, and empathy -- sure we do! But here, gathered around a campfire, we hear and watch our work take flight as the children become the story tellers.
The Treasure in Front of You
We have been planning for our 75th Anniversary of the Cooperative School. How do we mark the passing of years in a meaningful way? One way is with these journals, collected year after year...they are the treasures right in front of us.
The Future is Here
We have the future inside the walls and garden of our little cooperative school. We know the future surrounds us and is being cared for carefully. And here it is about community and the strength of "we." The future may not be evenly distributed, but it will be. Yes, it will and it will start with "we."
Storytellers
Children are natural storytellers, and during play, one child doesn't carry the burden that might come with "writer's block." The play brings the story and each voice adds a layer. "Pretend I am" and "Pretend we are" layer upon layer as each "and then. . ." gets added until the story flows.
