Portrait Progression

These portraits are created over the course of several months. The children work in layers, from internal organs to hand-mixed mixed skin, eye, and hair color, this is a math and science self portrait expressed through paint, glue, and paper. While this is a primary focus of our 4/5-year old class, it is supported by many field trips, documentation projects, reflection, and collaboration.
