PJ Fiore: Physical Arts

PJ Fiore leads our Physical Arts Program. She has crafted a program that combines gross motor movement, strength-building, coordination, and cooperative play ground games. Since we introduced this program in 2012, we have seen a marked difference in the way children engage in our outdoor space. It directly impacts how children draw, write, move and climb, as well as in how they interact with each other.

PJ has a lot of experience in physicality which began with her involvement in women’s rugby. PJ started playing Rugby in 1997 with The Washington Furies and that team is currently placed 7th in the country. She toured Ireland with the team in 1999 and South Africa in 2003. The Washington Furies were the first women’s team to travel to South Africa and play there. PJ was a player on the Mid-Atlantic Rugby Football Union Regional Select Side 2003-2008.

She coached Georgetown from 2007-2008. PJ retired from the sport in 2010 and turned her attention to working in early childhood education. PJ's latest pursuits include running an early morning bootcamp for family and friends. She currently holds CF-L1 Training.

Next up? She hopes to open her own gym! Stay tuned for news.
