The Cooperative School's mission statement encourages us to extend our community beyond the walls of our school. Our blog, Growing Together, along with our social media outlets helps us accomplish this through increasing our virtual footprint.
The Cooperative School is excited to be offering its third year of Saturday morning coffees and topics in early childhood.
The Sessions are offered on the second Saturday of each month from 10-11:30am October through May
Topics are related to early childhood development. Light fare, coffee, and tea will be served. Events are open to member families and the community.
Certificates of participation will be provided for teachers and early childhood providers.
Students, educators, parents and volunteers at the Cooperative School are affiliated with #OptOutdoors, a nationwide social media call to action that celebrates getting outside and directly experiencing all that the outdoors offers.
This program, funded in part by the City of Takoma Park, brings local elementary school children to the urban green spaces and forests.
The Cooperative School’s teachers and parents are excited to share their love of nature with more children and their families.
The Cooperative School opens its doors to other educators and provides training through conference sessions and workshops.
Educators are invited to connect with the School’s intentional practice onsite with tours and offsite through conferencing and workshops.
Sessions are booked in advance and focus on themes like playful learning materials, dramatic play, nature and natural settings, risk benefit, and supporting parent involvement.
