The Rock Garden and Child’s Teahouse
![]() |
Eight years ago, the outdoor space at The Cooperative School was transformed. Generous donations and hard work by parents, grandparents, relatives, and friends realized a wonderful, vibrant space for children to run and play. Each playground feature offers endless opportunities for grand adventures.
However, the project was not quite finished. The space along the south side of the building stands ready for a Rock Garden and Child’s Teahouse – a destination for sharing an imaginary cup of tea, a story, or a quiet respite from active play.
The Teahouse will open into a rock garden. Dappled light will fall on a gently winding path, lined with native shade plants. The path will lead to a boulder seating area brushed by the leaves of a Japanese maple. This unique, sheltered space will allow children, teachers, and parents a chance to connect, share, and reflect.
We need your help in bringing this vision into reality. We need to raise $10,000 in order to begin work on The Rock Garden and Child’s Teahouse. Please consider buying a plant for $10, a bag of stones for $50, a bench in the Tea House for $100, or a Japanese maple for $500. Your generous donation will enhance the experience of every child at The Cooperative School.
